College/Technical School Adult Scholarships

APPLICATION DEADLINE: FRIDAY, JUNE 30th, 2024

Please read the criteria for each scholarship carefully. Feel free to apply for all scholarships you qualify for.

Corry Manufacturing/Corry Hi-Ed Adult Scholarship - $1,855

Must be a graduate of Corry or Union City high schools, or have been a resident of the Corry or Union City school districts since at least June 1, 2022. Must turn at least age 25 by Sept. 1, 2023. Must be accepted into a certificate program, associate degree program or higher at a college, university or technical school, and be taking at least 6 credits in the upcoming school year. Special consideration given to applicants pursuing higher education or technical training through Corry Hi-Ed educational providers.

Kelly Thomas Memorial Adult Scholarship - $3,000

Must be a graduate of Corry or Union City high schools, or have been a resident of the Corry or Union City school districts since at least June 1, 2022. Must turn at least age 25 by Sept. 1, 2023. Must be accepted into a certificate program, associate degree program or higher at a college, university or technical school, and be taking at least 6 credits in the upcoming school year.

Steven E. Bishop Adult Scholarship - $460

Must be a graduate of Corry or Union City high schools, or have been a resident of the Corry or Union City school districts since at least June 1, 2022. Must turn at least age 25 by Sept. 1, 2023. Must be accepted into a certificate program, associate degree program or higher at a college, university or technical school, and be taking at least 6 credits in the upcoming school year.

Timothy M. Emerson Memorial Adult Scholarship - $530

Must be a graduate of Corry Area High School or have been a resident of the Corry Area School District since at least June 1, 2022. Must be accepted into an associate degree or higher program at a college, university or technical school in Erie County, PA for Health Sciences (including UMPC Hamot’s Nursing Program). Must be taking at least 18 credits in the upcoming academic year.

Using a single application, you can apply for any or all of the four scholarships listed above for which you qualify.

  • Candidates submitting incomplete application packets will not be considered for scholarship funds.

  • All applicants will be notified regarding the status of their application by mid-August.

  • Scholarship checks will be made out to both the selected applicants and to their schools. Checks will be issued in August. Publicity regarding scholarship recipients will be provided to local media.

  • Applicants who draw down scholarship funds in a particular semester but who withdraw from school without completing that semester must repay that and any other remaining funding to the Corry Higher Education Council.

  • Applicants withdrawing from school without using the entire scholarship must immediately notify the Council.
